Hitchhiked by night, lots of traffic coming back from snow day in Whistler. Red light is long enough to go between cars with a sign. Once you got a ride, they can easily pull over if needed, after the traffic light.Gas station also available, didn't try tho.
Got a ride from Cedric, a French guy who travel a lot as well. Good convo as we were jammed in traffic.

Followed instructions on Hitchwiki.Few cars in a sunday morning, but ended up getting a ride from an Iranian couple, Dina & Sarhad in no time.
They were lovely, made a stop to the Shannon Falls, highly recommend.
Beautiful road, enjoy the scenery !

Probably got lucky on this one.Short waiting time, I've only seen a few trucks and one car going this way. While driving, almost no traffic passed us before we reached Kamloops.
Dave, a truck driver, stopped and brought me all the way to Vancouver, despite not necessarily being allowed. He offered me lunch and when he stopped at night, he offered me to sleep in his truck. In the morning, he waited for me and dropped me close to a train stop so I could keep going downtown

Much traffic going east. Good spot, drivers can pull over. Waiting time about 30 min. They take you and they take you a long time ;-) Canada rocks!―Anonymous

Straight stretch, lots of room for drivers to pull over. Easily accessible by taking the #257 bus to Horseshoe Bay. Waited about 20 minutes―Anonymous

Its illgal but i did it and a very good spot , just as u tur right from the main tstreet to the entrance ( no curb ) went into the split concree where both go to hope and took theleft side the one whos going straight to the freeway , less than 5 min as the entryence is really packed due to the density of traffic so car did t even had to stop he just keep rolling very slowly and waved me to jump in !―Anonymous

This spot is pretty fast. But the visibility is ok, and there is room to pull off the road. There is a trail system that runs along the highway, follow it until you find the maintenance access. Dont jump or vandalize the fence. There is a gate, jump it or you can wade through the bramble... and you'll be on the highway. Hitching is fairly common in this area so you shouldn't have to wait too long.
